Kyle is from Norman and has worked for Norman Regional Health System for 24 years. He worked as a paramedic for 15 years before going back to school to finish his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma followed by an MBA in Healthcare Management from Southern Nazarene University. He then transitioned into a business development position at Norman Regional, followed by being the Emergency Department System Manager for 3 years. He has been in his current position as Director of EMSSTAT for the past 2 years. He is also passionate about teaching, which he has done in a variety of capacities including teaching Healthcare Ethics to grad students for 3 years at SNU.
Kyle is also involved in the community. He has been in the Norman Rotary Club for 8 years and served as club president. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Cleveland County YMCA. Kyle's civic involvement includes chairing the Norman Forward citizen ad hoc committee for the Young Family Athletic Center as well as being a member of the Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee.
Kyle is a graduate of Leadership Norman (picked as the Earl Sneed leadership recipient), Norman Citizens Academy, and the Norman Citizens Police Academy. He recently participated in the ONE Norman visioning sessions. It is through all of these organizations that Kyle has developed a better understanding of what it takes as a community to keep Norman safe, thriving, and a best place to live. This occurs through listening, collaborating, and putting in the hard work. Kyle would like to do this at the Council level and give back to Norman.
